Dashboard — Overview & Concepts

The Dashboard is your firm's home page — a single view that pulls together your Portfolio, Deal Pipeline, and Diligence data so you can see where things stand without opening each module.

What problem it solves

Without one place to look, answering "how are we doing?" means opening the portfolio spreadsheet, the deal tracker, and the fund model, and adding the numbers up by hand. By the time it's done, one of them has changed.

The Dashboard answers that question in one screen, from the same records your team already keeps in Portfolio, Deal Pipeline, Due Diligence, and LP Reporting, so it's never out of date and never needs rebuilding.

The examples below use a made-up firm and companies to show how each feature is used.

Example: the Monday check-in. A partner opens the Dashboard before the weekly meeting. Portfolio NAV is $412M, up 38% on cost. Dry Powder shows $64M still uncalled, so there's room for two more initial checks. The Deal Funnel shows nine deals in Screening but only one in Term Sheet, and Open DD shows three active diligence workspaces, which tells the partner where the team's time is going this week. Clicking the largest holding opens that company's page.

What you see

Portfolio NAV is the headline number: the current total value of your stakes in your portfolio companies (each company's valuation × your ownership %). Next to it, a badge shows your gain since entry (or, if your portfolio has no cost basis yet, a "Cost basis" label instead).

Below that, six summary cards:

CardWhat it shows
CompaniesActive portfolio companies, with the total (including exited and written off) underneath
Total InvestedSum of invested capital across all companies (cost basis)
Gross TVPIPortfolio-wide Total Value to Paid-In multiple
Active DealsDeals still being worked: not closed and not passed
Dry PowderUncalled capital across your funds (shows "Fully deployed" at $0)
Open DDDiligence workspaces currently marked Active

Each card is a link: click it to open the list behind the number.

Under the summary cards, a Holdings table lists your five largest stakes, and a Deal Funnel chart shows how many deals sit in each pipeline stage. Click a stage to see its deals.

Amounts, numbers, and dates on the Dashboard follow your firm's reporting defaults (base currency, number format, date format), and metrics your firm has turned off, such as TVPI, are hidden. Admins set these under Settings › General.

Key terms

  • NAV (Net Asset Value) — the current value of your portfolio.
  • TVPI (Total Value to Paid-In) — a multiple showing total value returned plus remaining value, relative to capital called from LPs.
  • Dry Powder — capital that's been committed by LPs but not yet called.
  • DD (Due Diligence) — the diligence workspace process for evaluating a potential deal.
